Pine resin is a material naturally secreted by pine, fir and cedar trees whenever their bark is damaged, with its waterproof and anti-microbial and bacterial properties sealing and healing the wound. Whilst this material has been used throughout history it has suffered a massive decline in recent decades due to the rise of petroleum based alternatives. 
Passionate about reversing this trend, Marks' explores inventive and innovative ways to reimagine the material. Using its unique set of properties to craft vessels, lights, handles and tiles.
