Remembering, Forgetting Book
Remembering, Forgetting. The Past & Potential of Pine Resin, documents the outcomes of Marks' residency at the Emma Kreativzentrum in Germany, 2025. Showcasing 16 historic uses for pine resin and 6 contemporary reimaginations for how the material can be worked today.
Designed by Theresa Zettleman and featuring a hand screen-printed cover, the book plays with conventional archetype. Openable from both sides, and joined in the centre by a series of photographs of how the material is harvested and worked, it's symbolic of the need for a continual relationship between the past and future, and how ancient wisdom can provide answers for forging a more symbiotic relationship with nature.
