Furikake Lanterns
 

Marks' has made multiple batches of Rio Kobayashi and Flavia Brändle's Furikake Lantern. Originally constructing their curved forms using a series of precise kerf cuts, which were then reinforced with 4mm cherry keys, he since went on to develop a steam bending process which results in far stronger and more reliable components. 

These are connected through precisely cut lap joints, and are then later covered in a washi paper. See the finished lanterns here.
